Zilco Australian Noseband
Allows the bit to be held high in the mouth to prevent the horse from putting its tongue over it.
It is fitted by passing the rings of the bit through it (put it in hot water to make it more malleable), and also protects against pinching the corners of the mouth.
Often used in racing but suitable for any discipline.
Requires a special loop to attach it to the bridle.
