Verdun bit covered in Beris leather
Leather bits are extremely well accepted , almost all horses like them.
Leather is a natural product that stimulates chewing and salivation . The bit simply slides into the mouth, increasing the animal's sense of well-being. When moistened, this ergonomic bit adapts perfectly to the anatomy of the horse's mouth.
Particularly suitable for young, hypersensitive horses . Even horses that have been completely resistant to bits due to bad experiences usually accept a leather bit easily and can thus relearn to trust its use. Our products are vegetable tanned and hand-sewn .
The shape of the side pieces ensures a neutral and very calm position in the mouth. Thanks to this feature, the Verdun bit is wonderfully suited for young horses with little experience. The shape of the side piece also provides lateral support and optimal guidance. The large ring ensures good rein control.
Thanks to the copper bushings of the mouthpiece, the rings rotate regularly, which significantly increases the life of the mouthpiece.
Two types of barrel are offered:
- The "soft" barrel is more flexible and pleasant in the mouth. It is intended for young or sensitive horses.
- The "hard" barrel is made of a harder and more rigid material. It is intended for stronger horses.

Before first use, the bit should be soaked in cooking oil for a few hours. Repeat this step as soon as the leather feels dry. It should be soaked in clean water before use and cleaned thoroughly after use, as saliva can damage the leather.
